I am not sure how they can produce these incredible sounding and durable light gauge flats at this price. I have all of my electric guitars set with these and I also make custom sets for my 12 string (6 string sets with extras of the four smallest strings and repeats on the top two). This is a third of the price of the Thomastik-Infeld strings, and they are a lighter gauge.
Hi im sean, i started playing at age 13, im 55 now but i stopped playing wen i was 19 for about 30 + yrs. Been back for just over two yrs. Ive played flats on a bass but wat are they like for electric guitars? Main genre i play metal.
These are a great alternative to flat wounds. Vintage jazz guitar sound at half the price and at least 5 times the longevity of flat wounds. The Brite Flats wound strings actually sound like new flat wounds after a couple of weeks of playing and can retain that tone for up to a year. I replace only the plain steel E and B strings at least twice before replacing the entire set. I sure hope GHS keeps making them.

I have a Taylor GS Mini-e Koa that I added a Amumu soundhole pickup to along with an Artec EDGE preamp that can blend both. I'm a fingerstyle blues/jazz guy who doesn't use nails and tends to slide around on strings, so I'm too noisy on wound strings and often don't get enough definition with flatwound strings. I've tried so many different strings that I'm driving myself nuts, but I gave these a chance on a whim. I tried them years ago on a different setup and remember them being a bit sticky; I wasn't aware that they're ground Alloy 52s, which are about the stickiest strings I ever played. Anyway, I tried them on my GS Mini-e setup and instantly became a Brite Flats addict after using one of those String Fuel lube pads on them. No finger noise and with attack and power that is amazing; the touch allows me to play dynamically, i.e., with more expression. Wow. I guess I'm done with flatwounds. I have to custom my set with BR46, BR36, BR26, BR22, and D'Addario XT Coated plain steel 16 and 12 that better match the BRs' tone; it's a more balanced and playable set that tapers nicely into the bass end. "Koa Girl" and I are ready to play now.
